Motor vehicles tax
MULTAN: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB), Multan Region Wednesday forwarded a complaint to Regional Tax Office Chief Commissioner and sought details on motor vehicles tax details from July 2016 to April 2019.
According to a NAB’s secret letter, the NAB Directorate sent the letter on March 29 with the deadline until April 4. The directorate was investigating hundreds of million rupees irregularities revealed in a complaint. The complaint alleged that GPO staff tampered record by receiving complete payments from vehicle owners but deposited 50pc amount with GPO by reducing vehicles’ horsepower and made hundreds million rupees. Insiders at NAB Directorate pointed out that a GPO officer and his associate juniors were involved in the mega corruption scam.
