JI, QWP activists protest hike in POL prices

PESHAWAR: The Jamaat-e-Islami, youth members, and Qaumi Watan Party (QWP) on Tuesday staged separate protests against the increase in the prices of petroleum products and urged the government to withdraw the decision.

Led by the provincial head Mushtaq Ahmad Khan, the JI activists gathered outside the Peshawar Press Club.

The participants, who carrying banners and placards inscribed with slogans against the government decision, said the increase in the petroleum products prices were not acceptable to them.

The speakers criticised the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf government for making the lives of poor miserable during their nine months rules recalled that the rulers made tall claims of bringing change and now had forgotten all their commitments.

Meanwhile, the QWP activists, led Tariq Khan, also staged a rally outside the Peshawar Press Club.

They condemned the increase in POL prices and said they would expand their protest movement and resist the anti-people decision of the rulers.

MANSEHRA: The activists of Jamaat-i-Islami, youth wing, have taken to the streets to protest against recent increase in oil prices.

The protesters assembled outside the Mansehra Press Club and raised slogans against Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf government.
