A few days back, some reports claimed that Prime Minister Imran Khan had said that a big oil and gas reservoir was going to be discovered in Pakistan and the nation would hear good news in near future. The whole nation was happy and prayed that may be so. But now experts have rejected this claim. They say that work is underway but it is too early to expect such a big discovery.
This has not happened for the first time. Years ago, the then chief minister of Punjab Shahbaz Sharif and then prime minister Nawaz Sharif had also made such statements when they said that there had been a discovery of massive gold, silver, copper and iron deposits in Punjab’s Chiniot area. But later on, nothing happened. In my opinion, making such tall claims is not good. Before making such a tall claim, leaders must think thrice. Hopefully, the prime minister will not make such a statement again before anything is quite sure on the ground.
