Man held for robbing driver of ride-hailing service
Police on Monday arrested a suspect red-handed while he was trying to flee after robbing a driver of ride-hailing service in the Gulshan-e-Iqbal area.
According to District East SSP Ghulam Azfar Mahesar, Nasir Shah alias Nisar Shah was arrested during police patrolling on Rashid Minhas Road. He added that the man snatched a cellphone, a wallet and cash from the driver, Shahroze Khan.
The police also claimed to have recovered a pistol, a motorcycle and looted cash and valuables, including a cellphone and a wallet, from his possession.
During the initial interrogation, the suspect told the police that he was a habitual street criminal and recently released from jail. He said that he was involved in a number of street crime cases in the Mobina Town, Sohrab Goth, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Gulshan-e-Maymar and Rizvia Society areas. A case against him has been registered while an investigation is underway.
