MANSEHRA: As many as 35 aspirants of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf have moved applications to the intra-party election committee for top offices of the district president and general secretary.
“Our leadership has started restructuring the party to secure maximum seats in upcoming local government elections at the district level and intra-party elections are essential to it,” Member Provincial Assembly Babar Saleem Swati told reporters here on Sunday.
The PTI MPA said that as many as 15 party workers and office-bearers have submitted their online applications to the committee for the office of district president and around 20 for the general secretary slot.
In response to a query, he said that the advisory committees were being established in each district and division.
“Each member of the provincial assembly would be part of the district committee, wherefrom he was elected and each member of the National Assembly would be part of the divisional committee,” he explained.
Swati said that Saifullah Khan Niazi overlooking the intra-party elections across the country was also tasked by Prime Minister Imran Khan for the restructuring of the party.
