LAHORE : The School Education Department (SED), Punjab, has issued policy on the Insaf Afternoon School Programme, starting in the selected schools of 22 districts from April 1.
The afternoon schools will start classes after the closing of morning schools with minimum four hours and thirty minutes of teaching. The classes of middle schools will be held in the buildings of notified primary schools while those of high schools in the notified middle schools.
Under the programme, transport facility will be provided to the eligible students, bicycles to boys and vouchers to girl students (maximum Rs 1,500 per month) and these would be provided by the school councils from the funds provided for the purpose.
The eligibility criteria for these facilities includes monthly school attendance of 80 percent or more by students, children of parents/guardians having income level less than or equal to Rs 15,000 per month. The teaching and non-teaching staff to be hired for the afternoon schools will be paid honorarium through the school councils. The districts where the Insaf Afternoon School Programme” is going to start are: Attock, Bahawalnagar, Bahawalpur, Bhakkar, Chiniot, Dera Ghazi Khan, Hafizabad, Jhang, Jhelum, Kasur, Khushab, Layyah, Lodhran, Mianwali, Muzaffargarh, Nankana Sahib, Okara, Pakpattan, Rahim Yar Khan, Rajanpur, Sheikhupura and Vehari.
