More raise in salaries demanded

PAKPATTAN: Wapda employees and other workers Monday demanded more raise in salaries.
Wapda union leaders Muhammad Ahmad Mohal and Muhammad Iqbal rejected 7.5 per cent rise in salaries and urged the government to increase their salaries and allowances up to 25 per cent.
They also called for an end to privitisation plan of Wapda.
Meanwhile, teachers’ body leader Muhammad Siddique demanded more rise in salaries.
LOCALS DEPRIVED OF VALUABLES: Locals were deprived of valuables in different incidents on Monday.
Muhammad Razaq Shakar brought his family members in van (LEC-5551) at Pakpattan to visit shrine of Hazrat Baba Fareed Masood Ganj Shakar and parked the van outside the shrine. When they came back they found the van missing.
Four thieves entered house of Farukh Hameed of bus-stand locality and took away gold ornaments, clothes and other valuables.
Three thieves stole electricity transformer from tube-well of Munir Ahmad of Chak Kartarpur.
TWO INJURED: Two people suffered injuries in different incidents on Monday.

THREE ATTEMPT SUICIDE: Three people Monday attempted suicide over domestic issues in different areas.
Muhammad Farid, 25, ate poisonous pills when he exchanged harsh words with his family members.
Arshad, 20, of Amerra Gogar locality drank pesticide when he exchanged harsh words with his family members.
Allah Rakha, 22, of Opana locality consumed poisonous pills.
They were rushed to DHQ hospital Pakpattan.
THRASHED: A man was thrashed on Monday.
Muhammad Ali of Warseen locality demanded his amount from Ali Ahmad and others. Ali Ahmed and his accomplices thrashed Muhammad Ali and snatched Rs 20,000 from him.
LOADSHEDDING: Citizens Monday expressed their concern over more than 17 hours unscheduled power loadshedding in the city and its adjoining areas.
They urged the higher authorities to look into the matter.
DOG BITE: A female college student was bitten by a stray dog.
Sabia, daughter of Akram of Kalyana locality was going to home from her college when a dog bit her.
She was rushed to DHQ hospital Pakpattan.
LABOURER DIES: A labourer fell from a roof and died on Monday.
Allah Ditta, 35, of Basti Baghi Shah was working on the roof a under construction house when he slipped and fell down and died instantly.
STRIKE: Lawyers of District Bar Association Pakpattan and tehsil Bar Association Arifwala observed a strike on Monday against the Daska incident. No lawyer appeared before any court.
