Well done, Quetta Gladiators, you deserved it. Congratulations to the PCB and all connected for arranging such an event in a smooth manner, thus conveying to the world that Pakistan is a peace-loving country and is free of any sort of terrorism and hate. The way the residents of Karachi welcomed foreign players was unique – the parallel of which is difficult to find in the sports world. While it was great and appropriate to observe one minute silence in memory and respect of Christchurch victims, it would have been even better had the authorities cancelled a few song and dance performances.
The overall impact of the final match of the PSL was stunning, but the absence of the former chairman of the PCB, Najam Sethi, was terribly felt. The PSL is his brainchild and its success is his achievement. Also, in future, it will be great if the PCB invites legendary players like Javed Miandad and Zaheer Abbas to watch the match.

As Quetta Gladiators lifted the cup for the first time in the PSL history, everyone, including the COAS, DG ISPR, PCB chairman, CM of Sindh, was there to cheer for them. However, the house didn’t seem to be full and all cricket lovers missed the one person who is really responsible for bringing the PSL to Pakistan – former chairman of PCB Najam Sethi. During his tenure, he did a brilliant job and it was through his efforts that cricket was brought back home.
If it was not for him we couldn’t be able to watch the glowing lights of the National Stadium, Karachi. Pakistanis respect him for his efforts.
