It took two fatal airline crashes and a loss of over 350 people and a global outcry for the grounding of Boeing 737 Max planes. Can there be any explanation for the fact that Boeing took so long, almost over five months after the Lion Air crash, to ground the aircraft. It was criminal on the part of manufacturer not to notify the flight crew of changes in the flight crew manual.
The company could have prevented these two fatal crashes if it had redesigned the wing and conducted exhaustive flight checks which manufacturers used to carry out before the certification and approval by the FAA. If manufacturers were saving costs and driven by market forces to speed sales, the FAA should have ensured that flight checks have been carried out extensively. If this criminal negligence had involved other aircraft manufacturers, the American media would have raised hell and the FAA would have imposed a ban on the airline.
