Fawad for dialogue among civilisations to make world safe

ISLAMABAD: Information Minister Chaudhry Fawad Hussain Monday called for dialogue among civilisations, being the only way forward, as rise of hate mongers on the world stage is making the world unsafe.

The minister tweeted, “As New Zealand prepares to bury mosque victims, Pakistan flag half-mast today, dialogue amongst civilisations is only way forward as rise of hate mongers on the world stage is making world unsafe”.

“Liberalism needs evolution, its academia’s responsibility to think of solution,” Fawad wrote.

Meanwhile, Information Minister Chaudhry Fawad Monday said the enhanced cooperation in the fields of information and culture was a key to forge relations among the nations of the world.

Fawad said this in a meeting with Mrs. Irina Akulovich, Director General Belta, news Agency of Belarus, who called on him along with Ambassador of Belarus Andrei Ermolovich here. He said that Pakistan enjoyed warm and cordial relations with Belarus and would like to further strengthen these ties in the area of culture and information.

Fawad emphasised the need for exchange of cultural troupes comprising singers, dancers, musicians and artists as it would help in understanding each other's culture and values besides reinforcing people to people contacts.

Director General, Belta thanked the minister for accepting invitation to attend opening ceremony of photo exhibition celebrating 25th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Belarus and Pakistan. She said that exhibition would provide an opportunity to understand more about Belarus, its people, culture and achievements.

The ambassador said that president of Belarus attaches great value to its relations with Pakistan and they would like to further strengthen these ties in the areas mutually beneficial for the people of both countries.

Fawad said that Pakistan was a serene and beautiful country and “We would welcome Belarusian visitors to come to Pakistan and enjoy the mesmerising beauty of its Northern Areas.” He said that Pakistan was a modern democratic state where civil society was vibrant and media enjoys unprecedented freedom.

Both sides agreed to further fortify existing collaboration and cooperation between Belta and APP by signing MoU.
