KP Assembly condemns New Zealand mosques attacks
PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly on Monday through a unanimous resolution condemned the killing of innocent Muslims in a terror attack on two mosques in New Zealand and asked the world to declare the attacker a terrorist.
The joint resolution, moved by Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) lawmaker Nighat Yasmin Orakzai, also condemned those countries and organizations which had referred to the assassin as mentally retarded instead of calling him a terrorist.
The resolution stated that the killing of innocent Muslims had deeply hurt the sentiments of the entire Muslim world as the victims had gathered to offer Friday prayers at the mosques.
“We the members of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly also condemn those countries and people who had not declared the attacker a terrorist and at the same time appreciate the prime minister of New Zealand who had condemned it as an act of terrorism and showed her sympathy with the victims and the whole Muslim community,” the resolution added.
Through another resolution, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly recommended to the provincial government to ban sitting of children on the front seat of a vehicle as it was dangerous for the kids.
The resolution stated that children aged 12 and below should not be allowed to sit on the front seat of a vehicle as it can cause serious injuries to the children during an accident or any mishap on the roads. The resolution was presented by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)’s MPA Ayesha Bano and it was unanimously approved.
