Islamabad : Spokesperson for the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council Hina Shaukat Kiani on Thursday clarified that Prof Dr Amer Zaman Khan had been elected the vice-president of the Council, its highest decision-making body.
The clarification comes as a 'The News' report on PMDC elections erroneously named Prof Amer Bilal as the new vice-president.
The spokesperson quoted newly-elected PMDC president Prof Dr Tariq Iqbal Bhutta as saying that he will make all possible efforts to turn the PMDC into one of the world's best medical regulatory authorities.
Vice-president Prof Dr Amer Zaman said the new Council would try its best to adopt a transparent and professional approach to regulate medical and dental education and practice in the country.
