LAHORE: A 35-year-old newly-wed woman was burnt alive allegedly by her in-laws in the Millat Park police limits on Thursday.

Police have registered a case against the victim’s husband, mother-in-law and brother-in-law. The victim, identified as Nasreen Bibi, daughter of Shafqat, had married Shahzad three months back.

The couple used to scuffle on domestic issues. The victim in her last statement to police said she was in the kitchen when her in-laws doused her in petrol and burnt her. She was rushed to hospital where she died. Police reached the scene and collected evidence. The accused persons are at large.
