Thunderstorm forecast for today

LAHORE : Partly cloudy weather was observed in the city here Wednesday while Met office predicted similar weather conditions for the next 24 hours.

Met officials said that a shallow westerly wave is affecting upper and central parts of the country. They predicted that cold and dry weather is expected in upper parts of the country. However, light rain-thunderstorm (with light snowfalls over the hills) accompanied by gusty winds is also expected at isolated places in Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore, Sargodha, Faisalabad, Malakand, Hazara Divisions, Islamabad, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir.

Rainfall was observed in several cities, including Khuzdar 10, Barkhan 05, Turbat 04, Kalat 03, Lasbella, Jiwani, Gwadar 01, Larkana 07, Jacobabad, Mohen-Jo-Daro 05 and Karachi (A/P 02). Met officials said that Wednesday's minimum temperature was recorded at Kalam where mercury dropped down to -06°C while in Lahore it was 11.6°C and maximum was 23.4°C.
