Pak U-21 volleyball teams off to Bangkok
KARACHI: After a day’s delay due to flight issues eventually Pakistan beach volleyball teams on Tuesday flew out of Karachi for Bangkok to feature in the Asian Under-21 Men’s Beach Volleyball Championship scheduled to be held at Roi ET, Thailand, from March 15-18.
Pakistan is fielding two teams in the event which also will act as qualifiers for the Under-21 World Championships. Zarnab Khan and Afaq Khan make one team while Usman Faryad Ali and Ahmad Mustafa Khan form the other side. They are accompanied by manager Ijaz Ahmad and Iranian coach Hamid Movahedi. Pakistan Volleyball Federation (PVF) said on Tuesday that the teams would play a few practice matches against different nations before the start of the event for which the draws are yet to be held. The teams practised here at the Navy’s sports facilities in Minora for the last few days.
