UoP links students to prospective employers at ‘Career Fair’

PESHAWAR: The University of Peshawar Wednesday hosted a “Career Fair “to connect the students with prospective employers and introduce them to jobs and internship opportunities at various public sector and private organisations.

Around 40 national and international reputed organizations attended the event.

Every organisation had set up a recruiter’s booth to conduct on-spot screening interviews, collect resumes and engage with students.

The company representatives also counselled the students about career choices and the job market requirements.

Advisor to the chief minister on Industries, Abdul Karim, was the chief guest on the occasion.

He said the ‘Career Fair’ was a milestone event for both the students and the employers.

“It is an exciting networking event involving local, national and international companies as well as outstanding students who learn about internship and full-time career opportunities”, he said.

University of Peshawar Vice-Chancellor Dr Mohammad Asif Khan said: “We are very fortunate to have our recruiting partners collaborate with the Career Services Office of the university to make this event more successful.”

Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority (SMEDA) had established an awareness stall on the occasion.

Bank of Khyber, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Oil and Gas Development Corporation Limited, Pakistan Air Force and others also took part in the event attracting a large number of graduates to the venue.
