Awareness stressed to prevent diseases

Islamabad: President Dr Arif Alvi on Wednesday called for the creation of public awareness of ways and means to prevent diseases.

Addressing the convocation of the Rawal Institute of Health Sciences here Wednesday, the president said the early diagnosis of diseases was vital for better treatment and reduction in mortality rate. He said sanitation and cleanliness were imperative to ensure the people's better health.

"The responsibilities of health sector depend on doctors, who can play a pivotal role to reduce the sufferings of patients," he said.
