SHOs trained in public dealing, administrative affairs
LAHORE: A training workshop to provide SHOs with basic guidance regarding dealings with the public and administrative affairs of the police stations was held at Qila Gujjar Singh Police Lines under the supervision of SP Headquarters Syed Karrar Hussain.
As many as 24 SHOs from the police stations of the City participated in the one-day training workshop. Additional IG® Sarmad Saeed gave lecture to the SHOs on better service delivery and behaviour. He said police officers should adopt polite behaviour with the citizens. He provided guidance to the SHOs on basic human rights. Moreover, a comprehensive briefing on code of conduct for police officers as described in the rules of “International Association of Chiefs of Police” was also given to the SHOs.
SP Headquarters Syed Karrar Hussain said that all the SHOs of the police stations of Lahore will be imparted the training. He said 60 SHOs had already been provided the training.
certificates: The Lahore Police Character Certificate Branch issued 7,326 certificates to the citizens in the first two months of the current year.
As many as 5,806 character certificates and 1,520 verification certificates were issued to the citizens during first two months of the current year.
As many as 1,497 applications were submitted by the citizens at Khidmat centre of DIG Operations office, 483 at Town Hall, 2,629 at facilitation centre of Gulberg, 856 at Iqbal Town, 408 at Hall Road, 349 at Bhatti Gate and 259 applications at the facilitation centre at Arfa Karim Tower.
open court: DIG Operations Lahore Muhammad Waqas Nazir on Friday held consecutive eighth open court at his office and listened to the problems of the complainants. The DIG issued orders to the police officers to redress the genuine grievances of the citizens.
He said 90 percent complaints were related to the cases regarding property disputes and business affairs.
Muhammad Waqas Nazir said that the complaints regarding delay in registration of FIRs and provision of justice were few. Besides holding the open courts, the DIG said he also listened to the problems of the complainants at his office on a daily basis following the open-door policy of the Punjab government. He said that the purpose of holding the open courts was to provide facility of easy access to the citizens to the high officials for the redress of their grievances.
He said police officers ensured their presence in the open courts to solve the problems of the complainants. Muhammad Waqas Nazir said that improvement had been seen in provision of justice at the police stations due to the administrative reforms introduced in Lahore Police.
He said that it was the prime responsibility of police officers and officials to listen to the problems of every complainant and take immediate action in accordance with the law. He directed all the police officers and officials of Lahore Police, including SHOs, to behave politely with the complainants, otherwise, strict disciplinary action would be taken against them.
Arrangements: Deputy Commissioner Ms. Saleha Saeed visited the shrine of Bibi Pak Daman here on Friday afternoon and checked cleanliness and parking arrangements. Shalimar Assistant Commissioner Abdul Razzaq Dogar and the officers of Evacuee Trust Property Board were also present on this occasion.
