Sufi musical night
LAHORE: A musical night titled “Sufi Rang” was held for Sufi Music lovers featuring the performances of noted Qawal Shair Mian Dad along with Farhana Maqsood and a Sufi dance group.
A remarkable turnout of viewers was observed on the occasion at Alhamra Arts Centre, The Mall. M Fayyaz Sufi Dance group spellbound the public with their sizzling performance on song” Shakkarwanda.” Farhana Maqsood, TV actress and singer, sang some good solo tracks. Noted Qawal Shair Mian Daad together with Farhana Maqsood performed on “Mere Rsahaq e Qamar.”
Shair Mian Daad mesmerised the audience with famous Qawali “Allah Ho, Allah Ho, Allah Ho.” Punjab Minister for Information and Culture Fayyazul Hasan Chohan while talking to journalists said that the objective of organising the event was to pay tribute to the Sufi poets. Alhamra Arts Council Executive Director Ather Ali Khan said, “Lahore Arts Council has started this spiritual journey to spread the message of love.
