Monitoring teams formed to check corruption
Islamabad : The government, in addition to Anti-Theft Task Force has constituted independent monitoring teams with mandate to visit Power Distribution Companies (DISCOs) and highlight any irregularities or corrupt practices.
Sources at Energy (Power Division) while highlighting steps taken to control electricity theft in the country on Sunday said special campaign to curb electricity theft has been launched in October last year in all distribution companies.
Chief Ministers of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have constituted task forces for control of electricity theft.
The respective task force is headed by Secretary Energy of the province and includes Chief Executive Officer (CEOs) of concerned power distribution companies and relevant Deputy Commissioner and District Police Officer.
