FDE abolishes technical, transport section
Islamabad: The Federal Directorate of Education has closed down its technical and transport section.
The development comes over the alleged irregularities in the section's financial affairs.
In an office order, the FDE said the abolished section's action in charge, Saleem Akhtar Awan, would work as the deputy director of the planning and development section only.
Awan was told to hand over the section's records, fleet cards, and car and office keys to the FDE director (administration and human resources).
The order said all major purchases would be carried through tendering in line with the Public Procurement Rules, 2004.
However, minor purchases of routine nature below Rs25,000, including maintenance of government vehicles, will be carried out by the relevant directors (BPS-19) of the wings and sections after approval of the director (administration and human resources).
