LAHORE : The Punjab government has approved posting of Prof Dr Khalid Mahmood as Executive Director of Punjab Institute of Nuero Sciences (PINS). He will be the first Executive Director of this institute which is a financially and administratively independent institution of 500 beds. Prof Khalid is the founder of modern treatment of Parkinson disease in Pakistan with Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) surgery. He has introduced minimal invasive spine surgery and brain tumor surgery while patient remains awake.
