Islamabad : The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has decided to allocate Rs200 million initially for development of stalled Sector E-12 which was launched 30 years back but most of allottees have sold their plots after not getting possession of their property.

An official of Capital Development Authority told ‘The News’ that the amount to be allocated for the sector would be spent during the on-going fiscal year while hefty allocations would be announced in the next budget. The official disclosed that so far the Capital Development Authority has taken physical possession of 4000 kanals of area which is nearly 70 per cent of the total land. The tendering process for award of contract for the development of the sector would start within one month. "We plan to carry out development of road infrastructure in two sub sectors," he said.

The civic body had already mobilized its machinery to pave way for full-fledged development activity. It is pertinent to mention here that in the past, several attempts were made to get possession of the sector but the efforts could not succeed.

However, earlier this month Capital Development Authority decided to get possession of the sector for the development.

In this connection, Capital Development Authority along with ICT Administration vacated 2,000 kanals land from affectees in the first stage. Recently, the authority took over possession of another 2000 kanals of land.
