Speeding truck kills man

LAHORE: A 35-year-old man was killed in a road accident in Manga Mundi police limits. A speeding truck hit the deceased, Amir Masih, near Bhuay Aasil bypass. He was taken to the hospital where he died. The accused driver fled the scene. Police have handed over the body to the victim’s family.

injured: Two persons sustained injuries after falling into a pothole near Lalak Jan Chowk, Defence, during the digging work. Rescue 1122 reached the scene and shifted the victims to General Hospital. The victims were identified as Tanveer and Amanat.

PO nabbed: Mozang police have arrested a proclaimed offender involved in killing of a cop and injuring two citizens outside the Sessions Court last year. Islampura police had registered a case against the accused person. He had fled abroad after committing crime. Cops arrested: Chung police have arrested three accused cops involved in torturing of an eight-year-old child.

A case was registered against trainee ASI Saeed Ahmad, incharge Sher Shah check post, contables Asad Latif and Faisal Ashraf. The accused cops had subject the child named Ahmad to severe torture by forcing to sit on a heater which resulted into critical burns on his sensitive parts.

found dead: A 19-year-old boy was found dead under mysterious circumstances in Sabzazar police limits. The victim was identified as Abbas. He was found unconscious near a store. He was taken to hospital where he died. Police said the victim was a drug addict. Meanwhile, a 20-year-old drug addict was found dead in Bhatti Gate police limits.
