LAHORE: Lahore Waste Management Company (LWMC) Managing Director Khalid Nazir on Friday paid a surprise visit to monitor ‘Zero Waste Operation’.
GM Operations Sohail Malik, Manager Operation Yasir Gull also accompanied the MD. They visited Gari Shahu, Shadman, Ferozpur Road, Bhogiwal, Walled city and other areas. During the visit, the MD conversed with the locals and sanitary workers. He said on every Friday, till March 29, the organisation would hold ‘Zero Waste Operation’ in the city to facilitate the citizens and clear the back log if any during the routine work. He said such operations would be directly supervised by him and zero tolerance would be observed with respect to cleanliness.
The GM operations said Lwmc along with Turk contractors would amplify all out resources to provide exceptional cleanliness services but without prompt response from public it would be hard to achieve the goal.
The MD also directed the staff for prompt response to any waste related complaint from the citizens. He also requested the citizens not to litter around and cooperate with Lwmc in order to maintain cleanliness.
