Shahbaz’s bail exposes NAB: PML-N, PPP
LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz and Pakistan People’s Party, while hailing the Lahore High Court verdict granting bail to Opposition leader Shahbaz Sharif in NAB cases, have said the decision has exposed the National Accountability Bureau and the propaganda campaign of the PTI government.
The LHC granted bail to Punjab former chief minister Shahbaz Sharif in two NAB cases, including Ashiana Housing Scheme scam and Ramzan Sugar Mills case.
The release of Opposition leader in National Assembly Shahbaz Sharif has come as a huge respite for PML-N, headed by him, which has already been undergoing a testing phase as its founder, former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is undergoing imprisonment.
“The propaganda against PML-N that has been continued for last three to four years has been exposed after the court’s decision” said Senator Pervaiz Rasheed, central PML-N leader and former federal minister for information and broadcasting while talking to The News.
He said whether it was the case related to former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Engineer Qamar-ul-Islam or the Opposition leader in NA Shahbaz Sharif, the courts rulings have exposed the NAB and the PML-N stand that it had been victimised by it had been vindicated.
Moreover, he said the PTI, which through a ‘media trial’ had launched a campaign against PML-N had also been exposed through this decision in which bail had been granted to Shahbaz Sharif.
The PPP, the second largest Opposition party in Centre after PML-N, has also hailed the LHC verdict granting bail to Shahbaz.
Pakistan People’s Party Secretary General and former Chairman Senate Syed Nayyar Hussein Bokhari while talking to The News stated that the court had granted bail to Shahbaz after ‘examining the performance of NAB.’
He said the decision showed that the material put by NAB before court regarding these cases wasn’t sufficient adding for quite some time, the bureau had been making cases against PML-N, PPP without solid substance which exposed
its working and performance. President PPP Central Punjab Qamar Zaman Kaira has said the release of Shahbaz Sharif on bail was a welcome sign for Opposition and it would build pressure on the government.
He said the granting of bail to Shahbaz Sharif by LHC was also a ‘matter of concern’ for NAB and stated that the National Accountability Bureau should first complete its ‘homework’ before nabbing people.
