Child labour
One of the reasons why child labour cannot be eliminated from Pakistan is rampant poverty. Children of lower-income households which do not have enough means to have a decent meal every day are forced to find a job and earn for their families. We often say that there should be proper reforms to induct these children in schools, but we fail to notice that these children will again drop out of the school as they do not have access to basic facilities.
The government should work towards ensuring that the working class is paid better wages. There should be a regulatory authority which should keep a check on the wages paid to labourers, factory workers and domestic help. No one, be it a household or a private company, should be allowed to exploit workers.
