New IGP KP assumes charge
PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa new Inspector General of Police (IGP), Muhammad Naeem Khan, assumed the charge of his office on Monday. On arrival at the police headquarters, he was received by senior officers.
A smartly turned out contingent of police presented guard of honour to him. He laid floral wreath at Yadgar-e-Shuhada and offered fateha for the police martyrs. Naeem Khan has replaced Salahuddin Khan Mahsud. He was serving as IGP Azad Jammu and Kashmir before being posted in KP.
Later, the IGP presided over a meeting of senior police officers at the Central Police Office. “We must stand up as a team. Everyone has to contribute to see the force successful in confronting challenges. We all should be loyal to the state and focus on our job. Everything should be done in a transparent manner,” said the new IGP. The KP police chief paid rich tributes to the sacrifices of the force by saying that Khyber Pakhtun-khwa police was a brave and committed force.
The new police chief joined the Police Service of Pakistan in 1987. He served as SP Cantt, Lahore, District SP Nowshera and Kohat, SP Crime Branch, SSP Highway Patrolling Police (HPP) Rawalpindi, SSP/AIG Islamabad Police and DPO Sargodha.
Naeem Khan remained Deputy Director National Police Academy, Deputy Director Federal Investigation Agency, Deputy Director General and Joint Director General Intelligence Bureau, Regional Police Officer Hazara, Additional IGP Operations and Additional IGP Commandant Elite Force. He attended various professional courses in the country and abroad.
