The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) conducted 10 operations in different parts of the country, which resulted in recovery of 41 kilograms of charas, 4.8 kilograms of heroin and 960 grams of cocaine.
During these operations, the ANF arrested 11 persons, including a Filipino woman, involved in drug trafficking and seized two vehicles. The value of recovered drugs is approximately Rs131 million in international market, the ANF Headquarters said on Thursday.
The ANF Rawalpindi Road Check Team, while acting on a tip-off, intercepted a Suzuki FX taxi (GAH-3294) at Tramri Chowk, Islamabad, and arrested an occupant namely Ghulam Abbas, resident of Islamabad, after recovery of 4 kilograms of charas. The arrested man was involved in supply of drugs to nearby localities.
The ANF Lahore conducted a raid on a house near Chungi No. 22, Welayatabad, Vehari Road, Multan, and recovered 300 grams of charas from the possession of a woman namely Fauzia Perveen, resident of Multan. As per initial information, she was involved in peddling of drugs at local level.
The ANF Lahore Airport Team intercepted a suspected shipment at Sky Net Air Cargo located at Allama Iqbal International Airport, Lahore. During search of the shipment, 800 grams of heroin was recovered which was concealed in the packing women’s shirts. As per information, the shipment was destined for the UK and booked by a woman, Musarrat Afzal, resident of AJK.
The ANF Lahore Road Check Team stopped a Toyota GLI car (VS-387) near a petrol pump on Sargodha Road, Khushab. The search of the car led to the recovery of 2 kilograms of heroin concealed in the gear-box. The occupant of the car, Syed Shabi-ul-Hassan, resident of Jhelum, was arrested during the operation. After initial investigation, the drug recipient, Mumtaz, resident of Sargodha, was arrested from nearby locality.
The ANF Lahore held three drug peddlers in a raid conducted on a premises located in the area of Grass Mandi, Multan, and recovered 5.68 kilograms of charas and 1 kilogram of heroin from Muhammad Islam, Ghulam Shabbir and Kamran, all residents of Multan.
The ANF Lahore Airport Team arrested a Jeddah-bound passenger, identified as Muhammad Shahbaz, resident of Sargodha, at Allama Iqbal International Airport, after recovery of 1 kilogram of heroin concealed in his passenger bag. He intended to board the Gulf Airlines flight — GF-0765.
The ANF Peshawar Road Check Team intercepted a Suzuki pick-up near New Toll Plaza, Indus Highway, Kohat, and recovered 13.2 kilograms of charas from Yasin Khan, resident of Khyber Agency. Reportedly, the accused is involved in supply of drugs to nearby localities.
The ANF Karachi Airport Team during routine surveillance at Jinnah International Airport, arrested a suspected passenger, Salamat Khan, on suspicion of heroin-filled capsules. During initial investigation, he confessed to having ingested heroin-filled capsules. He intended to board for Dubai by the Shaheen Airlines flight — NL-738.
The ANF Karachi Airport Team held a 40-year old Filipino woman, Marilou Cabrera, at the Jinnah International Airport, after recovery of 960 grams of cocaine concealed in the packing of bath soaps. The woman arrived here from Abu Dhabi by an Etihad Airways flight — EY-221.
The ANF Quetta, on pursuance of an intelligence report, apprehended 2 individuals from Sadabahar Bus Stand, Saryab Road, after recovery of 18 kilograms of charas concealed in their luggage. As per reports, the arrested men were to proceed for Rawalpindi.
