Poor patients are the biggest victims of the doctors’ strike in Balochistan, particularly in Turbat. Doctors are protesting against the abduction of Dr Amir Baksh, Maternal, Neonatal and Child Health (MNCH) programme’s provincial head and Coordinator of the Balochistan Health Department, who has been missing since April 15, 2015.
The painful reality is that doctors are also refusing to treat OPD patients. They should know that people coming to hospitals from far-flung areas are paying a heavy price – both in terms of health and money.
