NANKANA SAHIB: A woman was killed by her husband over a petty issue at Nabipur Dake on Saturday.
Accused Riaz, his father Manzoor and his brothers allegedly tortured Mahmoodan Bibi with clubs and iron rods over a domestic issue. As a result, she was seriously injured and shifted to a hospital where she succumbed to injuries. Sadar police have registered a case.
POWER SHUTDOWN: People have shown concern over 16-hour unscheduled electricity loadshedding in the city and its adjoining areas.
The power supply remained suspended for several hours without any prior notice from the Wapda authorities. The power shutdown paralysed all activities in the city. The business community also faced problems due to power shutdown. The people demanded the government take steps to overcome energy crisis.
