LAHORE: The Lahore Chamber of Commerce & Industry (LCCI) has welcomed the decision to put TAPI project on fast track and termed it a game changer, a statement said on Thursday. The LCCI President Ijaz A. Mumtaz said TAPI project is of great regional significance and early execution of the project would help energy-starved Pakistan to overcome ongoing crisis that is hitting the industrial sector hard. It is a good omen that present regime is utilizing all options to fulfil the energy needs, he said, adding that Prime Minister’s recent visit to Turkmenistan would enhance cooperation and trade between the two countries. Mumtaz urged the government to remove all obstacles coming in the way of the project as it has vital importance for the national economy in general and export-oriented industry in particular.
