The Pakistan Council for Science and Technology (PCST) has once again included the name of Professor Dr Muhammad Iqbal Choudhary in the list of the most productive scientists of Pakistan.
Dr Choudhary, the director of International Center for Chemical and Biological Sciences (ICCBS), Karachi University (KU), has been declared the second most productive scientist of the country in its directory titled “Research Productivity Award (RPA) 2014-15, an ICCBS official said on Monday.
The PCST has acknowledged the top position of Dr Iqbal Choudhary in all sciences except Mathematics. He was selected from around 1,600 productive scientists of Pakistan.
Under the umbrella of ICCBS, Dr Choudhary also heads the KU’s HEJ Research Institute of Chemistry in and Dr Panjwani Center for Molecular Medicine and Drug Research, he mentioned.
In the previous list for the year 2013-14 Dr Choudhary was on the top of the list with first position. The PCST has ranked the KU scientist in the top among 1,600 productive scientists of Pakistan, employed in public or private sector universities, colleges and research and development organistions, who have contributed in research, supervision of students and any other productive work during the period 1960 to 2014-15, the official said. He said that the scoring system takes into account different factors.
