CHARSADDA: Two persons, including a cop, were killed in two separate incidents in the district on Thursday, official sources said. They said that Nobat Khan, Izzat Khan, Irfan and Niamat Khan allegedly fired at a policeman Fawad in the limits of Tarnab Police Station, killing him on the spot. Motive behind the killing was stated to be an old enmity.Meanwhile, Saqib reported to the police that Salman, Abbas Ali and Ismail allegedly shot dead his brother Faizullah in Angar Killay in the limits of City Police Station over domestic issue. The police registered separate cases and started investigation.
Customs seizes 14 NCP vehicles

NOWSHERA: The Pakistan Customs officials seized 14 non-custom paid (NCP) vehicles,
which were being smuggled to Swat from tribal areas, official sources said on Thursday. The sources said the officials at the Rashakai Interchange stopped two containers for checking documents, carrying vehicles to Swat. During checking, the sources said, the officials found that the legal formalities had not been completed.The officials seized the vehicles and arrested two smugglers.

PESHAWAR: The Counter Terrorism Department on Thursday recovered explosives, arms and other devices used in a bomb blast from a vehicle in Mardan. As per the CTD statement issued here, the CTD personnel had received information that some terrorists were trying to shift explosives materials to Mardan city. During search, it said, a pick-up truck was signaled to stop. However, the driver tried to speed away and the cops after a brief chase managed to arrest Sabir Shah, a resident of Nissata in Charsadda district, and Hanifullah, son, a resident of Par Hoti, Mardan. It said that the police recovered four hand-grenades, two 30-bore pistols, two kg explosives materials, five liquid shells and five detonators.

BISHAM: Gunman shot dead a man in the limits of Bisham Police Station on Thursday, official sources said.They said that one Arzumand was on his way in Bisham Bazaar when Abdul Qadeer fired at him, killing him on the spot. Taking prompt action, the police arrested the accused along with the weapon used in the crime.
