LAHORE
A Pakistani expatriate, who was deprived of cash and valuables by swindlers, is still waiting for justice despite lapse of more than six months.
He alleged that police had not contacted him about the case so far.
Ajmal, the complainant, worked in Kuwait. About six months ago, he came back and as he set out of airport in a car with his father and reached near Shah Jamal Underpass, two unidentified accused persons riding a car intercepted them. They presented them as customs officials and asked for checking. While checking, they took out money, passport and other valuables of the victim and fled the scene.
A case was registered in Ghalib Market police station. Investigation Officer ASI Shaukat Ali said they had yet to trace out the accused persons. On a question about not contacting the complainant for six months, he said that when they would find out the accused persons and recover his valuables, they would contact him. About the progress on the case, he said they had included history sheets in investigation and working on the case.
SUSPENDED: CCPO Lahore, Capt (r) Amin Wains suspended SHO Sabzazar, Atif Zulfiqar and naib-moharar Zahid Hussain on registering a complaint of lost report instead of robbery case and ordered DIG Operations, Dr Haider Ashraf to hold department inquiry on Tuesday.
