KARACHI: The terror suspect, Amir ‘Sarpata, who was reportedly arrested during the Rangers raid on Nine-Zero, revealed during his interrogation that the MQM was involved in an attack on a school, local media quoting sources reported on Friday.
According to the suspect, a meeting, presided over by senior MQM leaders Haider Abbas Rizvi and Kunwar Naveed, was held in which they issued directions for terrorising school owners. During the meeting, orders were issued to attack a school with crackers and also issue threatening pamphlets.
Amir also revealed that the real intent behind the cracker attack was to divert the operation towards outlawed and banned organizations in Karachi. He revealed that the directives to carry out the attack were issued in January this year.
According to sources, after Amir made such startling disclosures against the top MQM leader, Rangers personnel grilled MQM’s Haider Abbas Rizvi and asked him that he could not leave the city until investigations of these allegations were completed.MQM’s representatives Wasay Jalil and Ali Raza Abidi were quick to respond to the latest allegations against their party and its leader Haider Abbas Rizvi .
