PESHAWAR: The fragile electricity supply line in parts of the provincial metropolis was disrupted as rough weather lashed the city Sunday evening.
Rains and storm hit Peshawar and other parts of the province Sunday. The rainfall came in bursts. The rain and thunder brought a pleasant change in the weather which was becoming warm. However, it also brought misery as the electricity supply system was disrupted.
After almost every rain, the trees on the roads, particularly in the Peshawar Cantonment, fall down and hit the electricity transmission lines and poles. The electricity supply is disrupted and repaired sometimes after hours.
There was no electricity for several hours after the rains and storm in parts of Peshawar on Sunday. It was unclear even by 11 pm as to when the electricity supply would be restored in certain parts of the cantonment and city.
