Talking to ‘The News,’ Brand Pakistan Director Sayyed Ahmed Masud said that the main idea behind Brand Pakistan Conference 2015 is to highlight achievements and inspiring stories of Pakistanis from around the globe.
He said that the aim of the conference is to unite stakeholders in developing a positive perception of Pakistan and in creating the blueprint for building around Pakistani Global Brands. “The Brand Pakistan will consist of a year round calendar of activities with a regular annual conference,” he added.
Sayyed Ahmed Masud said that Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Reform Ahsan Iqbal, Chairman Hashoo Group Sadruddin Hashwani, CEO Telenor Pakistan Michael Foley and Member National Assembly Asad Umar will address during the two-day conference.
Brand Pakistan Director Sayyed Masud said that six sessions would be held in the conference. The sessions include ‘Iqbal ka Pakistan.’ It will highlight the vision of Pakistan which was articulated by great philosopher and poet Allama Iqbal and father of the nation Quaid-i-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah. It will emphasise on creating an achievable and sustainable roadmap to build a better Pakistan in the light of Vision 2025. The panellists will also share examples and success stories of countries that successfully implemented strategies to build their economies.
The second session is ‘Branding Pakistan.’ In this session, panellists will discuss how to celebrate and build iconic Pakistani brands from the kinnows, mangoes, basmati rice, ‘chappals’ and ‘ajraks’. The panellists will also deliberate on how to make Pakistan a global tourist destination and how to add value to ‘Proudly Made in Pakistan’ for global markets.
The third session ‘Global Brand-Building Toolkit’ is to share ideas and insights in building a global branding strategy for Pakistani brands. Learning from the trailblazers already making their impact in international markets, the panel will discuss issues, challenges and opportunities for Pakistani brands in world markets.
The forth session will be titled ‘Land of Opportunity.’ It will celebrate the contributions and accomplishments of global brands in the Pakistani market. Replete with videos, case studies and storytelling session, the ‘Land of Opportunity’ will be a powerful session showing opportunities and potential that this vibrant nation offers to foreign and local investors.
The fifth session will be on ‘Powering Brand Pakistan.’ This session aims at bringing together major stakeholders necessary for building a strong ‘Brand Pakistan’ on a single platform. The panellists will emphasise on a clear set of roles and responsibilities for all stakeholders, including businessmen, policymaking institutions, trade bodies and government authorities. The session will also focus on creating an empowering environment and instilling a sense of purpose and ownership in these stakeholders. In addition to this, the session will also share examples and case studies of some major initiatives taken by other countries in strengthening their country brands.
The sixth session ‘Perception is the New Reality’ is for the media because this is the ‘Century of the Media,’ where media influences and even determines how people perceive events, causes, celebrities, history, religions and even countries. It is rightly said that perception is the new reality. It is time to contribute towards building a positive perception of Pakistan. It is time that the story of Pakistan is retold, in the proper context, with the actual facts to the right target audience. The panel will deliberate on building the roadmap for creating a Pakistani narrative to deliver the positives about Pakistan to the national and international media.
