The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) conducted 9 operations across the country, which resulted in recovery of 21.6 kilograms of heroin, 33.6 kilograms of charas, 18 kilograms of opium and 900 grams of ice (amphetamine).
During these operations, the ANF arrested 14 drug traffickers, including 4 women, one of them is a Nigerian national. The total value of recovered drugs is approximately Rs245 million in international market.
According to details, the ANF Rawalpindi Airport Team during routine surveillance rounded up a Nigerian woman namely Ms Uche Lilian Ezegioha after recovery of 600 grams of heroin concealed in her luggage. She was boarding for Lagos via Doha by Qatar Airlines flight QR-631.
The ANF Rawalpindi Road Check Team in pursuance of an information intercepted a Toyota Corolla car (NCP-DMR-01-1011) at River View Road near Wahab Shaheed Polo Ground, Jutial, Gilgit and recovered 9 kilograms of charas. Charas was concealed in secret cavities of the car. Three men on board namely Shakir Wali, Javed Khan and Muhammad Ghani, all residents of Diamir, were arrested. As per initial reports, the accused were involved in supply of drugs at local level.
The ANF Lahore Road Check during routine checking arrested 2 female smugglers namely Sumbal and Aqsa, both residents of Charsadda along with their male accomplice Muhammad Suleman, a resident of Kohat. The operation resulted in recovery of 15.6 kilograms of charas, which was concealed in their luggage. They were travelling in a passenger bus near Kot Abdul Malik Interchange, Sheikhupura. As per preliminary information, they were coming from Peshawar, and intended to deliver the drugs to local peddlers in different parts of Punjab.
The ANF Lahore Check Team in an information-based operation near Kot Abdul Malik Interchange, Sheikhupura, seized a mini Mazda truck (registration number K-6633). During search of the vehicle, 18 kilograms of opium was recovered from improvised cavity under the rear bumper of the vehicle. Two occupants of the vehicle, namely Amad Ali, resident of Mardan, and Bahir Ali, resident of Nowshera, were arrested. As per initial information, they were trying to smuggle the drugs to Punjab for local consumption.
The ANF Lahore Airport Team during routine checking intercepted 2 suspected passengers namely Muhammad Imran, resident of Faisalabad, and his female accomplice namely Robina Sheen, resident of Sargodha. On checking of their luggage, 900 grams of ice (amphetamine) was recovered. The ice was concealed in empty packets of shaving cream. Both accused intended to board for Jeddah by Shaheen Airlines flight NL-717.
The ANF Peshawar Airport Team during routine checking at Peshawar Airport detained a passenger namely Inayat Khan, resident of Haripur, who confessed to having gulped heroin-filled capsules. The accused intended to fly for Dubai by Shaheen Airlines flight NL-786.
The ANF Peshawar Airport Team during routine surveillance at Peshawar Airport detained a passenger, Soorat Gul, resident of Hangu, who confessed to having gulped heroin-filled capsules. He was boarding for Dubai by Shaheen Airlines flight NL-726.
The ANF Peshawar Airport Team at Peshawar Airport held a passenger namely Sameed Ullah, resident of Landikotal. During search, one kilogram of heroin was found wrapped with his legs. The accused intended to fly for Doha by Qatar Airlines flight QR-609.
The ANF Karachi raided a premises situated in the area of Ibrahim Haideri, Karachi, and seized 20 kilograms of heroin and 9 kilograms of charas. As per reports, the premises were being used as a narcotics den. However, the accused are still at large, and efforts are being made to arrest them.
