SUKKUR: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah has said that there is no threat to the Sindh government despite conspiracies by some anti-democratic forces.
Talking to the media in Badin on Sunday, the chief minister said Zulfiqar Mirza was roaming aimlessly in the streets of Hyderabad, Zardari had embraced him and accommodated him in the Sindh government.
He said that Mirza is a thankless man. He said that Mirza earned billions of rupees under the party banner but betrayed the party. However, he said that his two family members are in the PPP -- his wife (MNA) and his son (MPA) -- and now both have to clear their positions.
Shah said that supporting PML-N candidate Ismail Rahu by Mirza was a violation of party discipline. He said that neither the Sindh government nor the Pakistan People’s Party would support any candidate in NA-246 by-polls.
He said that the Sindh government will resist the move of the federal government to sell Pakistan Steel Mills which, according to him, was a gift of the late Z A Bhutto. He reiterated that the Karachi operation being conducted by the Rangers was not against the MQM or any political party but only against the criminals.
The chief minister said that the PPP government had so far established nine universities in the province to provide educational facilities to the poor and downtrodden people of Sindh.Meanwhile, Zulfiqar Mirza in response to the speech by CM Sindh said that he will talk against Qaim Ali Shah and other PPPP leaders, because they sabotaged the party manifesto.
He alleged that they (PPP) instead of delivering people earned kickbacks. He said that he is a “Jiyala” of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto and Shaheed ZA Bhutto and never betrayed with their philosophy.
He said that Qaim Ali Shah is a giant man, so he does not want to comment on his speech. He said that people of PS-59 will vote for a fair candidate and asked Qaim Ali Shah that who was behind deaths in Thar?He said that PML-N candidate Ismail Rahu is better than PPP’s cruel candidate.
