Spring Festival 2015 at the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) Lahore concluded with a daylong funfair Friday.
Vice-Chancellor Dr Talat Naseer Pasha inaugurated the funfair in the morning, chaired the concluding ceremony in the evening and distributed trophies among the overall winners of the spring festival contests. Different stalls were set up in the funfair.
According to a press release issued here Friday, Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences won overall first position, Department of Microbiology second and Department of Food Science and Human Nutrition third position.
Drama, stand-up comedy and quiz, Naat-Qirat and posters competition, scientific exhibition, floral and department decoration, music, photography and short film contests featured the week-long spring festival.
Speaking at the concluding ceremony of the funfair/spring festival, the Vice-Chancellor appreciated the students’ enthusiastic participation in various contests of the festival. He said such activities were necessary for students’ character building and social training.
