PESHAWAR: The teaching staff association of Islamia Collegiate School has announced to challenge the eligibility of Vice-Chancellor Islamia College University Ajmal Khan in the court.
According to the office-bearers of the association, Ajmal Khan was neither a PhD nor a professor and he was serving as vice-chancellor despite reaching the age of superannuation. They said that the basic requirements for a vice-chancellor were PhD and professor.
They alleged that the university administration has been interfering in the affairs of the Islamia Collegiate School. Several ad hoc teachers of the school have been terminated and contract lecturers have been asked to perform duties in the school, they added. They further said that some 20 contract teachers of the school have not been paid their salaries for the last three months. They said that the funds of the school have also been shifted to the university. The donations given to the school by the governor and other high ups have also been misappropriated, they alleged.
