LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has launched an inquired into digging of the Lahore City Cricket Association (LCCA) Ground pitch.
An official of the PCB has asked the Lahore Region Cricket Association (LRCA) to give its report on the incident. He said that any action will be taken after the report is received. He further stated that PCB only provides match officials and all the organisation matter rests with the associations. PCB, he said, is in it and has asked to LRCA finding on the pitch issue.
East Zone Whites and Blues team were to play their Inter-district tournament match at the LCCA ground which was delayed by around five hours after some unidentified men ruined the pitch on Tuesday.
The PCB Lahore Region Inter-District Tournament match could not start in time because of the unplayable condition of the pitch. It is not known who is behind the mess but the PCB and the Lahore Region Cricket Association has initiated an inquiry to determine who was responsible for the digging of the pitch.
