Section 144 imposed in Punjab ahead of Nawaz return
LAHORE: Provincial Minister for Food, Agriculture and Planning & Development Sardar Tanvir Ilyas Khan said Section 144 has been imposed in the whole province and legal action will be initiated against the violators.
Tanvir said arrest warrants for Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz had been issued by the court and necessary cooperation for their arrest would be extended to NAB according to the law. He said maintenance of law & order was the responsibility of the Punjab government and the caretaker government would take steps for it.
family planning: In his message, Caretaker Minister for Population Welfare Faisal Mushtaq said the objective of observing this day was to focus the attention of the world on the urgency and importance of population issues, including their relations to the environment and development.
He said awareness among the people regarding family planning was imperative. “It is important to cover the socio-economic problems of the rising population in the world as all efforts of development and prosperity prove fruitless in the absence of basic facilities,” he added.
Meanwhile, Provincial Minister for Human Rights and Minorities Chaudhary Faisal Mushtaq has said that immediate implementation of the policies of human rights is needed. He said this during his visit to Human Rights and Minorities Affair Department on Tuesday.
Later, the minister chaired a meeting there. Human Rights and Minorities Affair Department Secretary Asim Iqbal briefed the minister about the performance, targets, achievements and the ongoing projects of the organisation.
The minister appreciated the efforts of the officers of the department. He said, "Although our mandate is interim, our passion to serve the people is everlasting." He also inquired the department employees about their problems and assured them that their issues would resolved according to the policy.
