SUKKUR: The government of Sindh was not apprised by the center before the import of Liquefied natural gas (LNG), Chief Minister of Sindh Qaim Ali Shah has said.
Shah said, at Chandka Medical College, Larkana on Saturday, Sindh government has determined to defend the natural gas and its royalty and said he will take up the issue of gas royalty and load shedding to Council of Common Interest (CCI) meeting.
He said LNG gas was imported by federal government and Sindh government had not received any information about the import, adding that the center pushed Sindh to utilize such a stock of gas, while the gas produced locally in Sindh to be utilized by Punjab. He said this decision was not based on justice and is against the autonomy of the province.
“Sindh government was clear and asked the center to utilize LNG where there was a shortage of gas,” he said.
Shah further said the wheat imported for the whole country from Ukraine was also unhygienic, but it was transported to Sindh by the federal government.
