Tourists throng Kaghan on Eid
MANSEHRA: Kaghan valley attracted a huge influx of tourists during the first three days of Eidul Fitr. Tourists from across the country entered Mansehra through Karakoram Highway and then to Kaghan valley via Mansehra-Naran-Jalkhad road in more than 100,000 vehicles.
“We have deployed over 800 policemen for maintaining flow of traffic and to provide foolproof security to tourists,” Arif Javed, the superintendent of police, told reporters.
He said that in the light of previous numbers of tourists to Kaghan valley, Mansehra and Balakot tehsils were divided into three zones, which facilitated the flow of traffic there. “During the first three day of Eid, no untoward incident happened in the valley and on routes leading to it,” said Javed. He added that heavy machinery along with labourers and operators was also kept on standby at various places to clear MNJ road if sudden landsliding hit the valley.
