Fazl says US fomenting unrest in Middle East

DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman on Wednesday accused the United States of fomenting sectarian violence in the Middle East.
“The US wanted to flare up violence in Yemen and portray it as sectarian conflict,” he said while speaking at a party meeting at his residence.He said the crisis in Yemen should be handled with great care and asked the leadership of Islamic counties to play an active role in containing the violence.
The JUI-F leader said Pakistan has friendly and religious relations with Saudi Arabia and should extend every possible help for the protection of the holy places.Maulana Fazlur Rehman said that the protection of the holy sites in Saudi Arabia was the responsibility of every Muslim.
The JUI-F chief said that government had to honour the pledges made with the seminaries. He criticised the rulers for linking terrorism with seminaries in the 21st constitutional amendment.However, he said that government had promised to correct the mistake in the 22nd amendment. Maulana Fazlur Rahman convened a party meeting on April 22 to discuss the situation in Yemen and the proposed 22ndConstitutional amendment.
