Railways win T20 cricket tournament
PESHAWAR: Pakistan Railways Monday won the first edition of the Pakistan Railways Divisional Superintendent T20 Cricket tournament played here at the Gymkhana Cricket Ground.
Railways defeated Pakistan Television (PTV) in the final. Batting first, PTV managed to set a target of just 91 runs for Railways in the allotted 20 overs. However, Railways comfortably chased down the small target in just 9.5 overs for the loss of three wickets. Batsman Muhammad Jalil was declared man of the series. A total of 8 teams from various government departments participated in the event.
Railways Divisional Superintendent Peshawar Hanif Gul was the chief guest on the occasion and gave away the trophies and other awards to the winning and runner-up teams.
Hanif said that Pakistan Railways was giving due importance to recreational and healthy facilities, adding that T20 tournament was part of this initiative.
