MANSEHRA: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has finalised interviews of over 100 aspirants for 18 provincial and eight National Assembly’s constituencies in the upcoming general elections from Hazara division.
“We have interviewed the applicants in Mansehra, Torghar, Kohistan and Battagram districts. And interviews in Abbottabad and Haripur are in progress,” Zargul Khan, the advisor to chief minister, told reporters on Sunday.
He said that over 30 aspirants had applied for five provincial and two National Assembly’s constituencies in Mansehra district.
“We would finalise the names of our contenders from Hazara within a week. And party chief Imran Khan would give the final approval,” said Zargul Khan.
“Our interviews would also be followed by popularity survey in every constituency. And the list may be finalised on the basis of the survey,” he added.
Zargul Khan, who is also the regional party chief in Hazara, said that the tickets would be awarded strictly on merit.
He said PML-N MPA Saleh Mohammad Khan met Chief Minister Pervez Khattak a day earlier, seeking PTI support as an independent contender from NA-13 Mansehra, but he was offered party ticket.
