People advised to avoid paan and gutka

The use of betel nut, paan, gutka and cigarettes is one of the causes of oral cancer, and the people should refrain from it.
These views were expressed by speakers while addressing a seminar on the causes of oral cancer and precautions held at the Federal Urdu University of Arts, Science and Technology, said a statement.
Dr Azghar from Kiran Hospital said that oral cancer treatment was possible if diagnosed in the early stage. The university’s VC, Dr Altaf Hussain, said that people should refrain from using betel nut, paan, gutka and cigarettes.
He stressed the need for holding more informative seminars for public awareness. Students of the university attended the seminar in large numbers. Teachers and experts also addressed it.
